Estimated Time: 5 - 20 Hours Over 1 - 2 Months

We are in urgent need of some current policies written for our organisation. A review of what policies we do have would be great and then filling the gaps where necessary. A Health & Safety policy is one way you can kick this work off. This work would make a significant difference to us because we are largely volunteer-driven. We're a network of people getting stuff done and making an impact in their community and want to have robust, relevant and uptodate policies in place. You would have the opportunity work with our inspiring and awesome volunteers and lead on a project which is inspiring others to get involved.

Working location

Our HQ is in Wellington but you can be anywhere! We use Slack and Zoom for communications with our volunteers, but we have an awesome office on Willis Street, which you will be welcome to come visit if that is preferred.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Briefing and overview (1-2 hours)

As a priority we would like an uptodate organisational Health & Safety Policy to make sure that we have in place all our health and safety requirements? Preferably for presentation to the Board 9th October but we know this is quite soon. (1-2 hours immediately)

Review of the rest of our current policies which would include reading, listing and updating current policies and identifying gaps which may be sourced and rewritten to suit our needs. (8-16 hours over the next few months)

What We Have In Place

We have some policies in place.

Mission
We believe in a safe, just and inclusive society. This means ending targeted criminalisation of Māori, working toward decarceration and building flourishing communities.
What we Do
We work on systemic, transformative change in the area of criminal justice. We undertake research to provide evidence-based solutions to working toward this change and are driven by volunteers to support this kaupapa. We amplify the voices of those most affected by criminal justice by providing these platforms through events, volunteer opportunities and other projects to highlight the issues.
