Web Developer needed on exciting gender equality project!
National Council of Women of New Zealand

Estimated Time: 30 - 40 Hours Over 2 - 6 Weeks

We need a web developer to develop the Gender Dashboard part of our Gender Equal NZ Wordpress site. We have the data stories and a draft design, but we need someone to help us build it! Gender Equal NZ is led by the National Council of Women. We want all New Zealanders to have the freedom to determine their own future – free of gender stereotypes and constraints. To do this, we need to shift our deep-seated sexist attitudes and assumptions to highlight the real state of equality in our country. The Gender Dashboard will help lead us to a Gender Equal NZ by using data to highlight inequalities. The dashboard will tell data stories that explain what the means, how the data connects and contextualise it within a narrative arc (a data story).

Working location

We are flexible and can work around your schedule and location. Our office is in Central Wellington.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

2) Review draft design and provide advice (3 hours)
3) Web development (15-20)

5) Handover to NCW staff (2 hours)

You would be working closely with our Chief Storyteller (Data and Visualisation) and IT manager who are supporting this project.
