Spooky Event Volunteers Needed - Wellington
The Cerebral Palsy Society of NZ

Estimated Time: 4 - 8 Hours Over 1 - 3 Days

We are looking for some fantastic event volunteers to help us with our Haunted Hogwarts event in Wellington (at the old Fever hospital). The event is a family friendly event that seeks to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Society of NZ. We need people to help on the event evenings to set up and take down equipment, operate a sausage sizzle, or help with car parking. We need volunteers from October 29th to October 31st (all or part). The event should be a lot of fun and there'll be other volunteers working alongside you. If you'd like to give back to your local community whilst participating in an enjoyable event, we'd like to hear from you.

Working location

The event takes place at the SPCA Wellington Centre. Before the event, communication will take place online.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

For most volunteers, it will simply involve turning up at the event at an agreed time and helping out. Different people will be able to commit more or less time to this event, and we can accommodate that. If people can't do a whole day, we may be able to arrange shifts, so don't be discouraged from applying.

29th: Set Up - (approx midday to 3pm)
30th: Help with sausage sizzle or carparking - 5pm to 10pm.
31st: Help with sausage sizzle or carparking - 3pm to 9pm. Takedown until midnight.

The event is already planned, but for those who want to get involved planning an event, please contact us and may be able to get you involved in future events.

We also ask that volunteers fill out a criminal record check form online prior to the event, so please contact us early so we can get this processed in time. This is free and does not take much time to do.

What We Have In Place

The event is sold out! Twig and Arrow have organised this fantastic event for us and we just need to provide volunteers.

Mission
To enhance the lives of people with cerebral palsy in New Zealand, by empowering them to make their own choices.
What we Do
We are a member-based organisation that strives to enhance the lives of New Zealanders living with cerebral palsy. The Society was established nearly 70 years ago, and, in that time has assisted tens of thousands of people with cerebral palsy to live more independent and inclusive lives. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to support people with CP at all ages and stages. The Society is also focussed on raising awareness and funds for cerebral palsy and improving New Zealanders' attitudes to physical disability through partnerships and sector advocacy. From our Auckland base, we run programmes and events around the country and work hard to ensure we are accessible to as many of our members as possible. A list of our programmes can be found on our website.
