DESPERATELY SEEKING A MARKETING GENIUS!!!
The Collective

Estimated Time: 20 - 25 Hours Over 4 - 6 Weeks

We need help identifying and driving our brand & key messages to our existing customer base and the wider community in a way that is reflective of who we are and what we represent (mental health). We're after a marketing strategy that will work with an organisation who is very thin on the ground in terms of manpower but can deliver powerful messages that inspire and attract attention. We are super passionate about what we do, but passion doesn't reach our target audience without a punchy plan! :)

Working location

It would be important to me to meet, at least once at our shop in Birkenhead so the volunteer/s get the feel and a better understanding of what we do, how we are currently doing it, what's working, what's not, our vibe, future aspirations etc. Very flexible following that where we meet & time, fine also if communication is via phone/email. Happy to work around the volunteer/s :)

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Step One: Brainstorming session

The Collective and volunteer meet to help the volunteer get a thorough understanding of the organisation’s brand, current messaging, tone of voice, aspirations, challenges and the drive behind what we do.

Likely time commitment for volunteer: two hours preparing for meeting and two hours in meeting.

Step Two:

Volunteer to prepare a marketing strategy including brand messaging, tone of voice & content to drive our key messages to a wider audience and engaging our customers (and potential customers) in an engaging & creative manner.

Likely time commitment for volunteer: 10 hours preparing for meeting and one hour in meeting.

Step Three:

Volunteer to deliver draft of marketing strategy to The Collective.

Likely time commitment for volunteer: one hour preparing for meeting and one hour in meeting.

Step Four:

Volunteer incorporates feedback of draft from The Collective and updates strategy, delivering it to The Collective.

Likely time commitment for volunteer: two hours preparing for meeting and one hour in meeting.

What We Have In Place

We rely mostly on social media (very ad hoc at present) and word of mouth. We'll be putting up a large corflute sign in a prominant area in Northcote with generic messaging (until it is removed or taken down - guerrilla marketing style!) We're hoping this will attract people to our website and the store.
We also have a pavement sign outside the mall door in the carpark (we are very tucked away in an area that people don't really see).
Website address is www.thecollective.co.nz (this is a shopify site however we are not selling online due to lack of manpower).
