COVID-19 Support: Mental Health and Well-being Support Volunteers
Who Did You Help Today?

Estimated Time: 2 - 10 Hours Over

We are looking for volunteers to connect by phone or online with members of the community who are experiencing distress caused by the current COVID-19 situation in New Zealand, and to help support them. Many people will be feeling anxiety, stress, depression etc - some possibly for the first time in a significant way, while others may have existing conditions exacerbated – are you able to help them to deal with this? You might be a trained therapist, a counsellor, or other mental health professional. Or you might be a life coach, or someone who could assist people to find online mental health resources that could help them with their stress and anxiety. Your volunteering would not be to deal with crisis or emergency situations, which should be directed through the usual channels.

Working location

All contact will be via email and phone

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Estimated Time: Up to you – please volunteer for as few or as many hours as you feel able to give

What we will do: If you volunteer, we will match you with a person or people in the community who need help, appropriate to the type of support that you can offer.

What We Have In Place

We are asking small businesses and individuals to contact us if they need support. We will then facilitate connecting them directly with a volunteer to assist.
