Fixing the Finance for Repair Cafes

Fixing the Finance for Repair Cafes

Fixing the Finance for Repair Cafes
Repair Café Aotearoa New Zealand (RCANZ)

Estimated Time: 8 - 15 Hours Over 1 - 3 Months

We would love to have some skilled input into the financial planning of funding our nationwide organisation, including the funding of regular pop-up or permanent Repair Cafés across Aotearoa New Zealand. Setting up a strategically designed funding plan to specific funders over the next few years, as well as writing funding applications would ensure the continuity of community access to free repair services, skill sharing, neighbourhood resilience and preventing damaged products ending up in landfill when they can have a second or third or fourth life.

Working location

RCANZ is a national organisation, although our physical base is in Auckland, and over half of currently active Repair Cafés are in Auckland.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

* Meet with RCANZ Committee members and learn about the current funding situation and projects-
* Develop a funding plan for the next 3 to 5 years for RCANZ as an organisation, including funding options for various local pop-up Repair Cafés across the country.
* Identify potential funders and establish relationship with funders relevant to RCANZ organisational development
* Set out a funding timeline
* Write various funding applications as agreed by the RCANZ steering committee
* Set up monitoring and follow-up systems that ensure funding security
* Develop funding report templates
