Skills required
You're likely to require the volunteer to have:
- Experience conducting various forms of data analysis
- Experience analysing and understanding data for the purpose of conducting (strategic) planning
Likely project deliverables
The pro bono professional will deliver the following:
- Analysis of existing data, and identifying useful statistics about your cause, organisation or programme of work
Estimated time required
A project like this could be expected to take the volunteer 8-10 hours over two weeks.
Example of project steps with time estimates
Step one: Review and supply data
The not for profit supplies all existing data, including why and how it was gathered, to the volunteer along with an outline of the objectives of the data analysis and what they hope to achieve with it.
Likely time commitment for volunteer: two hours
Step two: Volunteer analyses data
Volunteer analyses material and develops statistics for the organisation. They may then conduct a quick meeting / workshop with the not for profit to share the findings and gather feedback in person.
Likely time commitment for volunteer: three to four hours in analysis, and two in meeting
Step three: Feedback and finalising
Volunteer incorporates the feedback and updates the statistics and analysis and resends this to the organisation to begin using.
Likely time commitment for volunteer: two hours
Check: before you list this project your organisation will have:
