HelpTank Q&A - Rohan Adarkar, Westpac

What are people saying about HelpTank?

We spoke with Rohan Adarkar, Marketing Manager at Westpac, who turned to HelpTank to use his skills to help the Refugee Council of New Zealand.

Q: Tell us a little bit about your volunteer experience (how you chose it, what kind of work you did):

A: I chose to do some web development work for the Refugee Council of NZ that was in desperate need of help.

Q: In your experience, how "user-friendly" was the HelpTank website?

A: Reasonably user friendly. Quite easy to navigate and find what you were looking for.

Q: How has this volunteer experience positively affected you?

A: It was great to learn more about the situation for refugees in NZ and what the council actually does. It was an eye opening experience and I was glad to be able to help in a small way towards the work that they were doing to raise awareness.

Q: If other people/organisations are interested in HelpTank, what would you tell them?

A: There are always opportunities to help organisations in need and it is a great way to give back to the community with the skills that you sometimes take for granted in your day to day. The experience will make you appreciate the country we live in a bit more and also give you something to work on that leaves a lasting mark.

Q: Will you continue to utilize HelpTank's services?

A: Yes for sure. I think this is a great way to connect organisations in need with the talent they need. It also gives skilled people in all areas to be able to give back and know what they’re committing to beforehand.

Thank you to Rohan, Westpac and the Refugee Council of NZ, for partnering together to make a difference!
