We are looking for a volunteer who can source or write a range of essential HR and organisational policies that we need to have in place. We have applied for a grant to support young people in the Far North to establish and lead small enterprises that grow environmental, social and cultural services in their community. We operate in the Far North (from Kaikohe north). We have been doing this for several years but to improve our service we have decided to become registered with the Ministry of Social Development to do this we need social sector accreditation... including for outdoor pursuits (trapping in bush areas, flying drones, swimming, photography, operating an oyster farm, tree planting, Marae visits etc).

Working location

Our projects are in the Far North (Kaikohe North) but we can work virtually on this project. We can be flexible around your availability.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Briefing and planning (1 hour)

We need someone to write or source the following
- a Child Protection Policy (that we can adapt, then train our staff to implement) our staff work with children and young people between the age of 15-20).
- an Equal Opportunities Employment Policy that we can adapt, the train our staff to implement.
- a Privacy Policy (must include details around holding and releasing students achievement records)
- Human Resources Policy must include recruiting, vetting and verifying references
- a cultural inclusiveness policy
- Complaint policies and processes

We estimate that this would only take a few hours for those skilled in this area, can source these policies and adapt them to our organisation. (4 hours approx )

We have a detailed Safety Action Plans and Health and Safety Policies.
We are a small and growing organisation, we use whanau and parent support, employees, contractors and regional and central government services.
