Estimated Time: 15 - 20 Hours Over 1 - 2 Months

Next year the SPCA Wellington Centre will be celebrating 100 Years of the Wellington Fever Hospital - the building we now occupy. We have collected information from people who have worked in the building and would like to craft these into stories that could be used in a book. Secondary, there is information about the building, from newspaper articles and the like that would also be great written into a story if time allowed.

Working location

Happy to travel within the region to meet but also welcome the person to come and experience a visit to the building. Very flexible.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

As soon as possible - meeting to discuss the book project, come up with a plan and show the information gathered so far
Mid January - first draft of main stories
Early February - final draft of main stories along with a draft of secondary stories if time allowed
End of Feb - final content

Timescales depend on much a volunteer can contribute to the project so estimating 15 to 20 hours

Wellington
Mission
To improve the welfare of all animals in New Zealand. We work to achieve our mission in a number of ways – from nationwide desexing initiatives to reduce the number of unwanted pets, to working with schools to educate the next generation of animal owners.
What we Do
The SPCA is the voice for neglected, abandoned or abused animals of New Zealand. With 42 Centres nationwide, we are the country’s biggest animal charity. We also uphold the Animal Welfare Act 1999 and prosecute where necessary. The SPCA is the only charity in New Zealand entrusted to do this vital work.
