Help automate our processes
Kaibosh Food Rescue

Estimated Time: 19 - 24 Hours Over 4 - 5 Weeks

**No more applications please** Kaibosh Food Rescue has been in operation since 2008 with great processes in place from inception. With the development in technology, there is the opportunity to automate some of our manual processes to electronic format, in order to to increase efficiency and effectiveness. We are seeking volunteers with either Software Technician and/or User Experience Expertise The main processes we need to automate are: -web-based expressions of interest from new charities wishing to use our service, with all data logged into a database -the ability to make a charity's application 'live' once it has been accepted to receive food -the ability to use their defined information to feed into our daily allocation schedule ie which groups receive what food types on what days and the prescribed volumes We have a detailed brief with relevant appendices, prepared for this project. Please apply if you have further questions on the project and we'll be happy to discuss.

Mission
Our vision is: Zero Food Poverty, Zero Food Waste. Our mission is: To be the link between the food industry and those that support people in need.
What we Do
Kaibosh is based in Wellington and is New Zealand’s first food rescue organisation. We link the food industry with community groups that support people in need ensuring that quality surplus food reaches those who are struggling rather than being needlessly discarded. This benefits both our community and our environment. Working in Wellington and the Hutt Valley with the help of a dedicated team of more than 200 volunteers, Kaibosh rescues and sorts food 7 days a week. We deliver up to 25,000kg of quality surplus food each month to community groups that support people in need. This is the equivalent of 71,000 meals provided to those who need it most, as well as a 19,400kg reduction in carbon emissions.
