Estimated Time: 10 - 20 Hours Over 1 - 6 Months
Do you have the gift of the gab? Know who's who in the media, and all the best people to talk to to get the ball rolling? If so, then we need your smarts! The Cheeky Kea Charitable Trust is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to helping those who have limited options explore the opportunities of self-employment. We are in need of expertise in the following - Provide advice on design and communication plans. - Digital and physical marketing in all its forms. - Making and maintaining media contacts on our behalf. - Liaise with various media outlets such as television, news/journalists, radio contacts, etc to promote our purpose and our people to the rest of New Zealand. We need a volunteer who can sell our idea, our heart and our soul to the people who need to hear about it or equip us with the tools and knowledge to take us on that journey. Any help will be much appreciated.

Proposed project steps with time estimates
We have no specific steps planned at this stage, because that's part of what we need advice on!
We would like to start off with giving a brief overview of what we do and to discuss a plan of how we work together with timeframes.
Our long-term goal is for Cheeky Kea to be completely financially independent rather than reliant on grants, so we are hoping to boost the sales of Swagworks and Printworks (see information below) to the point that they provide most of the necessary funding for our charitable works.
In the short term, focusing our marketing on the shop might be the safest bet, since that is what is most likely to provide a solid ROI in the foreseeable future. Plus, it is easier to sell cute, sparkly products than a charitable purpose, right?
What We Have In Place
There are three related branches of our entity to consider.
1. The core brand, The Cheeky Kea Trust. This is the heart of the brand and the part that is all about helping people.
2. CK Printworks, our publishing house. While this part helps people as well (we help budding Kiwi authors at no cost when we can), it's also part of our long-term funding because we sell our books around the world.
3. CK Swagworks, our online store. We sell stuff on our website and on Trademe to make money. At the moment, the shop donates 5% of all profits direct to Cheeky Kea while being 100% funded by a private owner. As Cheeky Kea grows and becomes self-sufficient, the plan is for Cheeky Kea to eventually buy out the private owner and take full ownership of the shop side of things.
We have a nice, mobile-friendly website set up, social media channels established, and even a small but enthusiastic presence on the world's most popular virtual reality platform. Now, we need someone who can sell our idea, our heart and our soul to the people who need to hear about it.
We are fully registered with the Charities division and have our GST registration complete. We have several websites for our different projects, which you can view here:

We also have all our branding set up and an established social media presence (though it could stand to grow, of course!).
