KAOS Master Plan Facilitator
OKE Charity

Estimated Time: 10 - 20 Hours Over 1 - 2 Months

The OKE Charity has been in existance since 2016 and the plan is for the charity to continue doing its amazing work for many years to come. There is a special team of people overseeing the charity, which is called KAOS (Kick Ass OKE Squad). To assist KAOS with growing the charity to meet its potential, we need to develop a long term strategy or as we're calling it The KAOS Master Plan (KMP). This will be twelve month, two year and five year plan with which KAOS, the Chief Go Getter and future team members can align with, to ensure we're focused on the same goals and objectives. We are planning a strategy workshop with which to develop the KMP. This workshop will be limited to a few hours, due to time commitments of all KAOS members. To best make use of this time and to have a workable plans by the end of the workshop, we wish to find a strategic thinker/facilitator to manage the workshop. This is a great opportunity for someone to help the OKE Charity become something truly amazing!

Working location

The workshop will be held at one of the schools which OKE works with in South Auckland, date to be confirmed. There may well be a need for some up front work to prepare for the workshop and our Chief Go Getter is flexible to meet with the KMP Facilitator.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Pre KMP Workshop - Meet with CGG to get background of charity and review outcomes of the workshop (1 Hour)

Pre KMP Workshop Homework - Understand if any pre workshop homework is needed, if so, help develop the homework to enable a productive workshop. (2 Hours)

KMP Workshop - Facilitate Workshop (4 Hours)

Post KMP Workshop Admin - Collate all the discoveries, plans and ideally masterplans for twelve months, two years and five years. (12 Hours)

What We Have In Place

Back in November 2018 there was an OKE Strategy Workshop which resulted with some goals and objectives, the outcomes, presentations and paperwork will be made available from this workshop. New people have joined KAOS (and others have left) since November 2018, so this KMP Workshop is intended to create a new framework.

There is an opportunity for a volunteer to see OKE's work in practice, as there is a working bee at Papatoetoe Intermediate on 4th March.

We can also give the KMP Facilitor access to our Google Drive which contains a whole heap of backgound information on the charity.

What we Do
OKE provide kiwi kids the opportunity to learn life and social skills by introducing productive gardens into schools. By giving the kids the tools to learn, OKE are empowering schools and communities to grow essential life and social skills, ultimately providing a better place for everyone. OKE plans on implementing our “Growing A Future” initiative into schools up and down New Zealand. Our starting point is Papatoetoe, Auckland, with ten primary/intermediate schools identified to get growing by 2018. Through Growing A Future, OKE deliver a garden to each school, enabling the kids, teachers and local community to get growing together. OKE kick off this initiative with a Working Bee, building everything required to make the garden sustainable; raised beds, greenhouse, composting solutions, kids tools, teacher tools etc. Each Growing a Future project for a school costs $10,000 to put together from start to finish…at no cost to the school!!
