Hello! We are a start-up charity in the youth development space. Over the last 5 years, we have developed an innovative programme to help get our most disengaged and disadvantaged young people to the important things in their lives, such as school, extra-curricular activities and appointments etc. The programme is supported by a technological platform (i.e. web and mobile application) that needs just a little bit more work before we can go ‘live’ with a Pilot. In particular, we need someone with mobile app development experience that preferably has: • Knowledge of JavaScript • Experience in React Native • Experience using Google's cloud development tools (Firebase) • Experience with Git version control systems • Experience in UI / UX Design (with young people in mind!)

Working location

The charity is based in the Wellington region

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Breakdown of work required:
• User enrolment and acceptance of Terms and Conditions – 2 days
• Admin portal: goal management – 1 day
• Admin portal: producing progress reports – 2 days
• Mobile application: notifications – 1 day
• Mobile application: UX design and styling – 3 days
• GPS verification – 1 day
• Rewards scheme (including online shop) – 2 days
• Testing / bug fixing of platform – 2 days

What We Have In Place

We have a basic React Native application with a Firebase back-end. Much of the functionality of the platform has been completed but we need an extra boost to get the platform ready for the Pilot. The areas of focus are getting the outstanding features outlined in the list above completed and tested. Please shout out if you want more information!
