Kelmarna Gardens

Estimated Time: 4 - 6 Hours Over 1 - 3 Weeks

Kelmarna Gardens is looking for a graphic designer to help us produce a beautiful poster for advertising this year's annual Spring Seedling Sale, in October. Ideally we would love to work with a designer who would like to provide ongoing support for future events and design requirements, for a few hours a month (though one-off help would also be useful).

Working location

Work can be completed from anywhere. If Auckland-based then we'd love to meet you at Kelmarna Gardens (12 Hukanui Crescent, Ponsonby) to discuss, but this can also be done remotely.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Our annual Spring Seedling Sale is one of the highlights of our year at our organic community farm, and this year will be taking place on Saturday 9th October.

We hope that a designer or illustrator can provide a new creative element that can be used for this year's poster (for print), as well as in banner and square image formats for social media.

We hope to launch the event around the end of August/beginning of September.

What We Have In Place

We have posters from previous years that can provide a template to work on, we are just looking for a designer or illustrator to add a new creative element for this year's event.

We have a clear idea and brief for what is required having run this event and others for a number of years.

Mission
Kelmarna Gardens is an organic community farm in Ponsonby, central Auckland. Through rebuilding connections between our people and our food, we work to champion and demonstrate a regenerative local food system that supports climate change mitigation, urban resilience and community wellbeing.
What we Do
On around 1.7 hectares of land, we grow vegetables, fruit, herbs, and keep chickens, bees, and livestock, using permaculture methods to produce food for our local community. The farm is staffed Monday to Saturday, teaching volunteers and others regenerative food growing skills, running educational experiences, and supporting people affected by mental health challenges or intellectual disability to garden for therapy.
