Estimated Time: 25 - 50 Hours Over 3 - 6 Months
We are looking to supplement our funding streams by uploading useful videos to our YouTube channel. We seek an individual with experience in (or keen to learn) the art of editing films and so enhance our educational resources for schools, research programmes and social science initiatives. The role requires a high standard of English, professionalism, good communication skills and diligence.
Working location
Proposed project steps with time estimates
Step 1: Review relevant materials and learn about our organisation, our mission and vision.
Step 2: Brainstorming session
Along with our team, brainstorm key messages and information required to enhance our library of educational and entertaining videos (60 minutes every 3-4 weeks)
Step 3: Take our raw video and add credits to fit in with our brand. Upload to our YouTube channel. (1-2 hours)
The time requirement could be 1-2 hours per week but variable depending on your interest and skill. With an enthusiastic person who has the time we could make endless films about our butterflies and moths.
You'll need to have
• access to film editing programs
• knowledge of media production and communication
• ability to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
• knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software
• thoroughness and good attention to detail
• ability to work well with others
• flexible attitude, open to change
• ability to use your initiative
• excellent verbal and written communication skills

Our organisation was founded in 2005 and is underpinned by its members and volunteers. Over this time we have grown a strong support base and formed strong and valued relationships with key organisations and corporates.

We want to inspire more people to have a deeper understanding of our NZ butterflies and moths by reaching them via social media. YOU can make this happen!
If you have an interest in gardening and wildlife, and a love of NZ Nature, combined with good organisational skills... you sound like you'd be a good fit for us!
We are governed by a Board of Trustees who meet monthly and make decisions for the governance of our charity. But the day-to-day running of the MBNZT is left to a small group of volunteers. We enjoy the work that we do, and it is always a pleasure serving our members and our beautiful butterflies.
