Brake, the road safety charity

Estimated Time: 1 - 2 Days Over 2 - 4 Weeks

Brake is a road safety charity working to prevent road deaths and injuries and provide free support to families who have been affected by road crashes. The information and resources we provide; to bereaved families dealing with the aftermath of a crash; to communities campaigning for safer roads; and to raise road safety awareness more widely, are integral to the work that we do. We are looking for an awesome copywriter to work with us on some additional content for our website and resources. Some of the work may also involve some online research and making contact with other organisations to find out information. This opportunity is for some specific content that we need creating and updating quickly, however there may be an opportunity to work with us on an ongoing basis if this would be of interest.

Working location

Most of the work will likely be completed virtually. Contact is preferred during office hours, but this can be flexible.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

Meet virtually with Brake's director to discuss project details.

Conduct research as necessary. Edit existing content and create new content where necessary.

Content checked by Brake and final edits made by copywriter ready for publishing online or in print as needed.

What We Have In Place

Mission
Brake works to prevent road deaths and injuries and make communities safer. We also provide free support to families bereaved and injured in road crashes, helping them to work through their grief to recover from trauma.
What we Do
Brake runs initiatives to raise awareness of road safety issues and advocate for safer roads. This includes coordinating national Road Safety Week, supporting companies to reduce incidents involving at-work drivers and vehicles, providing free resources to teachers to help them to teach road safety, and supporting communities to campaign for safer roads. Brake provides free support resources for adults and children who have been bereaved and injured in road crashes.
