Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust
Estimated Time: 1 - 6 Months Over
If you enjoy chatting with people, and if being on the phone is second nature to you, we need your help! We require someone special to do referee checks for us and also to conduct our exit interviews. Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust provide free reading and writing coaching for rural or isolated youth and adults around the country that don't have access to a main Literacy Centre. Our service is free, one on one and student centred. This role involves conducting referee checks on new volunteers and exit interviews for RYALT and reporting back to the Volunteer coordinator with your findings.
Proposed project steps with time estimates
You would be invaluable to the organisation as the role goes a long way in making sure that the volunteers we take onboard are of good standing and also the exit interviews are an important way of receiving feedback about a volunteer's experience with us. If you are interested as well, you could also become part of our outbound contact centre that does calls to different organisations on our behalf whether they would want information about the Trust and our services.
- All phone calls are made using an internet app (VOIP) from your home computer or mobile phone.
- You will need to enter comments into a spreadsheet. Hence, a computer and internet access are essential, but it won't cost you anything for the calls.
- Our Community Coordinator will help set you up and support you through the process, and you will be supplied a call script to work from.
