Proposed project steps with time estimates

You would be invaluable to the organisation as the role goes a long way in making sure that the volunteers we take onboard are of good standing and also the exit interviews are an important way of receiving feedback about a volunteer's experience with us. If you are interested as well, you could also become part of our outbound contact centre that does calls to different organisations on our behalf whether they would want information about the Trust and our services.

- All phone calls are made using an internet app (VOIP) from your home computer or mobile phone.
- You will need to enter comments into a spreadsheet. Hence, a computer and internet access are essential, but it won't cost you anything for the calls.
- Our Community Coordinator will help set you up and support you through the process, and you will be supplied a call script to work from.

Mission
Changing the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community (and their children) by giving free reading and writing training to isolated/rural teens and adults.
What we Do
The Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust (previous know as Adult Literacy Rural Trust) provides training in literacy for isolated rural adults and teenagers. The Trust has operated from premises in Port Waikato since August 2011. Our volunteer coaches work with a student from 3-5 days a week for 30 minutes a day, using phone, mail, fax and video-conference. Students are able to access our online practice software if they have access to a computer with internet or can get to a library computer. The Trust runs school holiday Catchup Literacy Camps for high school students who want to improve their literacy skills.
