Estimated Time: 8 - 10 Hours Over 6 - 24 Months

We are looking for a special person with a passion for the natural environment and a flair for helping users successfully use our burgeoning Conservation Activity Management System (CAMS). EcoNet (a charitable trust - www.econet.nz) is developing the innovative CAMS, a software product which will be a game changer for community conservation groups, iwi, hapu and individual volunteers. It will integrate a market leading CRM system with the world class ArcGIS system. We launched our pilot system in late 2021 and are now rolling out CAMS to a range of groups and individuals. This is an opportunity for you to support an exciting project that will dramatically improve the efforts of Aotearoa’s community groups and iwi in restoring our natural heritage by eradicating predators, controlling pest plants, restoring our waterways and expanding the population of native birds, trees and other taonga species.

Working location

This is a national level project. We are mostly based in Auckland and Wellington, working from our homes online and via e-meetings. We can work during normal hours and/or evenings.

Proposed project steps with time estimates

1. Understand EcoNet and the CAMS eToolkit and the conservation communities it will benefit
2. Help new users learn the various modules in CAMS systems and share their feedback with the project team
3. Help test bug fixes, new feature releases and upgrades
4. Help develop and refine training tools eg documentation, online videos
5. Liaise with the EcoNet design team via the product owners
6. Take turns answering support requests
